Topics
- EclipseCon 2007 Long Talks & Panel Selection
- Long Talks agreed to be ACCEPTED among PMC members:
- What do YOU want UML to be? : Considered a popular topic and of interest to attendees.
- Model-to-model transformations using Eclipse tools : An increasingly interesting topic within EMP, with the only reservation being that it might consider participation from members of the M2M project.
- GMF Best Practices : A popular project within EMP that should attract a healthy audience, with the only reservation being that it should also mention the GMF runtime component in the context of best practices.
- Teneo: Model Driven Relational Persistence, Persisting EMF Models using Hibernate/JPOX : Another very popular topic within EMP, sure to interest attendees.
- Modeling Generics with Ecore : An intersting talk covering EMF and Java 5 topics, with a recommendation to include aspects of performance experiences as well.
- Feedback on remaining Long Talk submissions:
- Eclipse Platform Support for Logical Model Integration : Interesting topic, although it doesn't focus on any EMP technologies directly, and perhaps is a bit too narrow in focus.
- Using Acceleo with a GMF modeler : Interesting topic, but not enough slots to consider.
- Reverse Engineering in Eclipse with the MoDisco project : An interesting new topic, but perhaps too new still? Perhaps a short talk or demo?
- EMFT JET: Building code generators to support Model Driven Development : Just not enough slots :(
- A Tour of the Eclipse Modeling Project : Too much content to cover at a reasonable level of detail to be of value. Perhaps a demo with somewhat restricted content?
- Great Stereo, Great Speakers - Modeling for a Dynamic Business Environment : A tough one to consider... on the one hand, good "from the trenches" talk, but then also good for consideration in the Industry Vertical track. Maybe even a demo or short talk candidate?
- Lessons from the Field: Customizing EMF Models for XSD-Based Documents : Interesting, but perhaps too narrow a focus? Maybe a short talk is possible?
- Integrating EMF with JPA--Enabling Enterprise Data Access for RCP Applications : Another interesting talk, but would recommend combining if possible with 3806.
- Panel agreed to be ACCEPTED among PMC members (only one submission):
- Model Comparison Panel : Sounds good to everyone.
- Long Talks agreed to be ACCEPTED among PMC members:
- M2M Creation Review (passed)
- M2T Creation Review (requested)
- Modeling Workflow Engine proposal
- Need to await next call for Markus to attend and discuss further. One proposal is to develop within the context of GMT.
- Comparison with Visual Studio discussion (Markus)
- See thread in newsgroup.

- Invite Frederic Jouault to be a member of the PMC, as Project Lead of M2M (Rich - done!)

- Add a comment for 3739 to include aspects of the GMF runtime component (Kenn)
- Discuss with Markus the possibility of forming Workflow Engine within the context of GMT, at first (Jean)
