Status
- Matt Ward
- re state of e4 project provisioning: mailing list is up, bugzilla's are there, he's setting up the CVS directory
- Ed Merks
- looking at reduced storage, choice of memory model, classes to represent states of the lifecycle and manage how much space is used. No general solution. You can win, but every case is different.
- Doug Schaefer
- in a company product release and a p2 based installer, wrapping up this week, good discussions on e4 list (asynchronicity,...)
- Brian Fitzpatrick
- working with Scott Lewis on connection framework, looking for ways to meet in the middle. Work could happen in ECF if we can find commonality with DTP. Trying to get people on board.
- Jochen Krause
- Presented e4 in Paris (100 people, big interest), met with Olivier (last name?) who's doing a declarative UI editor in GEF, Need to get an RWT version under SWT in the new repo.
- Yves Yang
- busy on SLDT, should look for relationship with the e4 tooling effort.
- Kevin McGuire
- started the IP work for getting TK/UI CSS into the repo.
- Kim Horne
- back from her honeymoon, catching up on email
- Eric Moffat
- working on the compatibility page on the wiki. Checked out of JDT source, then found out which methods are actually being used. Q: Should we have a leaner set of interfaces? Need to be careful if you are taking away functionality, even if it is available in the compatibility layer.
- Boris Bokowski
- working on workbench model with Marcelo Paternostro, one of the core EMF committers. We now have a proposed model that all who have worked on it so far are happy with. Porting existing code to new model. Interesting observation: For the photo demo app, only thing that changed was the XMI model, no code changes(!).
- Steve Northover
- tools for SWT port to Flex are in place: launch, step, debug just like developing for desktop (with incremental compilation). Based on GWT class library, support Java 1.5 syntax. The Dojo port is currently busted, but working on getting it running, hopefully for next week. Also, How do things that are missing in the libraries get added? Suggestion: Discuss in a bug report first. Currently just thrashing, need to understand what the good subset is.
- McQ
- busy on non-e4 work
Other Notes
- Boris sent out a note asking for position papers for the e4 symposium at ESE.
- re structure in the repo -- everything is experimental, "in the build" == "in the map file". Copy over stuff that is useful from the old e4 component directory. Copy from other parts of Eclipse Project as needed + keep stream in sync.
