COSMOS Integration Prototype
Martine and Bill have worked on a prototype to encapsulate the Aperi database into a CMDBf MDR using the COSMOS implementation. The prototype is broken down into three components:
- COSMOS Query Engine -- This is being implemented within the COSMOS project; you can download and build the COSMOS suite today.
- MDR (via COSMOS) -- This leverages the sample MDR within the COSMOS project to write a new MDR for interfacing to the Aperi DB. This has not implemented this part yet, but has been explored.
- Aperi DB Query -- This uses JDBC to query data from the Aperi Database. This has been implemented using the Derby JDBC drivers in a test programme and looks to be fairly straight forward.
All major milestones have been completed; the code has been delivered into COSMOS. The only remaining items are to integrate the code into Aperi and investigate whether to convert the XML format for the output into SML. These items will be driven by Martine, so there is no need to have any follow-up meetings. We have decided to suspend the workgroup.
