BIRT 2.3 Development
The New and Notable for BIRT 2.3 M5 was published by Jason last week and is available for the community. As previously noted, this Milestone release has significant new features available for testing, including the new Report Debugger - so the community is encouraged to review the N&N and provide feedback via Bugzilla.
Development work for M6 is underway, with M6 being scheduled for Public Access on April 15.
General Information
BIRT 2.3 is the next major release of BIRT and part of the Eclipse Ganymede Simultaneous Release. BIRT 2.3 is scheduled to be release in June 2008.
The Development Plan for BIRT 2.3 is available on the Eclipse BIRT Project Development Plan pages. The Milestone schedule for the release is available in the timeline section of the Ganymede project page (BIRT is a "+2" project in this schedule).

Bi-Directional Support (BiDi)
IBM have completed their internal review process for this contribution to the project and have submitted a patch via Bugzilla for the changes. This is Bugzilla #22072.
Wenfeng will go ahead and submit an IPZilla request for the EMO to review the code for approval from an Eclipse perspective.
As stated last week, it is unclear if this contribution can be rolled into BIRT 2.3 at this stage. However, we will continue to evaluate this as the contribution works its way through the approval process.
