Attendees:
IBM (Brenda Haynes, Craig Laverone, Chris King, Dave Wolfe, Greg McBride, Hans Lin, Norm Burchard, Russ Williams, Simona Constantin, Todd Singleton, Tom Guinane), LSI (Jenny Monessen)
Minutes:
- Project Leader Notes:
- Aperi webcast
- Congratulations to everyone on Aperi's first Webcast last Wednesday. We had 29 attendees, including the three presenters. Attendees hailed from across the US, as well as Taiwan and the Netherlands. We had a number of technical questions during the Q&A session as well.
- Allen Marin is working to post the recording on the Aperi project page for those of you who weren't able to make the call. Please have a look when you have a chance and please post any comments, questions, or suggestions through the mailing list or newsgroup.
- One suggestion for a future presentation was that we could use a few more technical experts from the Aperi team to participate fielding questions during the Q & A session. The presenters were not able to address all the questions and a stronger presence could have helped.
- Follow on topics for future webinars; how agents work / what transactions occur
- Tom to find out if we can track downloads of the webinars.
- SAN Simulator contribution
- Eclipse legal has completed a preliminary IP Review and as part of the parallel review process for projects in incubation. They are allowing us to post the source in our cvs library. Craig has volunteered to do this and Tom has sent him the code for posting this week.
- If we post an executable, it will need to have the word ‘incubation’ in the file.
- We need to think about how we want to advertise the SAN Simulator to our user community. Postings to mailing lists? A splash on the home page? We will need to update the Aperi download page.
- Tom to work with Ryan, Craig and our marketing contacts to come up with some ideas.
- This could be a very valuable tool for our users
- Third Party Contribution Questionnaires
- No new updates since last week. The IP Log reflects the current status.
- LinuxWorld
- We have a great opportunity to participate in the upcoming LinuxWorld (Aug. 7- Aug. 9) in San Francisco. Eclipse has a 10'x10' booth in the .Org Pavilion, and they have offered the Aperi project to staff six time slots over the three-day event. See Allen Marin’s append on aperi-dev for more information. If you are in the Bay Area or will be at LinuxWorld, we could use your help to staff one of these time slots. Please take a look at the available time slots and send a note through the mailing list as soon as you can, so we can make arrangements with Eclipse. Thanks!
